Chris Lamph, CEO of Knowledge Tree Training, explains the importance of hydration in learning and development and why Knowledge Tree has chosen to partner with GiveMeTap.
Education is critical in helping people realize their potential. When I started up my professional training company in 2015, my aim was to offer professionals around the UK opportunities to get the skills they need to move their careers forward.
Over the past two years, we’ve developed a lot of guidance and tips to help our delegates get the most out of their learning experience. So when I looked into the area of hydration more deeply, I found that there’s a strong link between hydration and cognitive abilities.
Our brains are 73% water, it needs proper hydration to function normally. One expert writing for Psychology Today said that brain cells “require a delicate balance between water and various elements to operate, and when you lose too much water, that balance is disrupted. Your brain cells lose efficiency.” And one study in the US found that drinking water improved memory and focused attention.
In the UK, the National Hydration Council says that staying hydrated helps “to improve our work productivity, helping us to perform better mentally and physically”.
So one of the messages we’re now giving to our trainees at the Knowledge Tree is that good hydration and strong performance in the learning environment go hand in hand. That’s why we’re pleased to be able to join forces with Give Me Tap in offering every delegate to ourPRINCE2 courses in London a free bottle of water in their course pack.
In doing so, we’re not only helping to provide water for communities in Africa but we’re also helping our trainees to get into the right frame of mind to perform and learn.
Knowledge Tree Training offers a host of courses across the UK, includingPRINCE2 Training,MSP Programme Management Training, as well as technical courses such asSQL Training.
